Hello to all interested to join AMCI,
We regret that some of you may have formed have a negative impression of our club. please accept our sincerest apologies for not having responded sooner. the information on how to become a member is found in our website pertaining to the annual Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) , w/c is conducted around May/June of each year. It is a 4-5 month training course (with a fee of course) that orients /trains prospective members on the history of mountaineering, basic life support/first aid training, land navigation, ropemanship, rapelling, etc. You will have chance to climb at least 4x if you finish the course.
The course can be undergone w/o actually joining the club. But passing the course (yes it involves physical and mental exercises, quizzes) is mandatory before you become a member.
Our Club has been in existence for more than 25 years already and we respect everyone's views on how we conduct our BMC and how we accept members. Please let us know if you would like to be invited for next year's BMC.
Trite as it may sound, we were not able to reply to a of the queries bec 1. we were busy with our own club activities (outreach, relief, BMC 2009). Our batch 2009 were recently inducted as the newest members at Mt. Apo just a week ago. 2. We do not have a definite date for next year's BMC as that is under the new Board of Directors set to be elected by January next year.
Everyone who signified their intention here to become a member or who wishes to take the BMC Course 2010 will be sent an evite as soon as we launch the BMC 2010.
